Croatian cities are well connected by modern highways, which further shorten the distancess. Zagreb Airport is the center of air traffic, and smaller airports on the coast (Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, Pula, Rijeka) bring a large number of passengers in Croatia, mostly tourists. Railway traffic has lost its primacy, but it has a rich history in Croatia, including the legendary Orient Express. Maritime traffic is developed along the coast, with the main ports in Rijeka, Zadar and Split.
