Synopsis

Judith Koch and her husband Niclas are expecting a child. As Judith is unable to give birth on her own, the couple hired a surrogate mother in Ukraine, although surrogacy is still prohibited in Germany. The war in Ukraine shakes the Koch family and they hope that nothing will happen to the surrogate mother Oksana. Judith was finally allowed personal contact with Oksana, who lives in Butscha. After a video conversation with her, Judith cannot resist: she offers Oksana to come to Germany. Oksana arrived safely, and little Romy was born a week early. Everything should be fine now – but Judith and Niclas have to travel personally to Kyiv to pick up their daughter and complete all the legal formalities on the spot.
